Interesting...Devotion and Trust.

I ask myself this morning how devoted am I really? What am I devoted to? Again this leads me to pondering which goddess am I serving? The one of my lower self or the one of my higher self.

We all have this spiritual quality of devotion. We all spend lots of time devoted to pour passions, interests, people, jobs, television programming, radio, the internet....we are all devoted to something.

What I feel led to explore is this question, "Is what I am devoted to taking me toward that which I desire or away from it?"

Seems to me that I am highly devoted to experiencing love. Sometimes I seek it from a place of my higher, expanded self and other times from my lower, victim self.

I feel highly devoted to writing.

What I know is that we are called to be devoted. The ultimate is to be devoted on a quest to understand the fullness of who we are with in the greater spiritual context.

Trust...what do I really trust? I seek to trust myself. As I continue to expand my understanding of myself, I feel that I do trust myself. I feel that one of the worse things that can happen is for a person to not trust herself.

Trusting myself involves taking risks. Sometimes I have to go for what my HEART, not what the WORLD is calling me to do but my heart...I have to trust my heart. Even if it does not land me where I desire to be at least I am beginning to give myself a chance to do more and better.

I remember when I did not trust myself. I trusted outside opinions of me more than I did my own. That is when I have created the greatest messes in my life.

But when I stay true to my heart and the voice of the great mother within me, I tend to land in places that are just right.

Pretty soon many of us will see the leaves change color as the trees begin to go into conservation mode for the winter.

The wind. That is an element that we are all familiar with as we think about autumn. The wind is embodied in the goddess, OYA. Oya is known for Her winds of change.

What changes do we need to make in our lives? What changes do we need to make in our thinking, our consciousness? Change is the spice of life and quite frankly the only reality. Nothing ever stays the same, even when we think that it does. Trust me, nothing every really stays the same...except the Divine.

But in this physical reality, everything is up for transformation.

What is transformation all about really? We talk about being transformed but why?

For me this life is all about Self-Realization. I seek to know who and what I am and as I do then I am better able to walk out my destiny with grace and ease.

One aspect of Self-realization is self-mastery. We often seek to master a subject or an activity and even people. But how many of us seek to master ourselves?

I have now come to realize that when I look at the physical and seek to transform it...well, that is really the least of my worries. I give thanks that now I seek to tune out what I see and tune into my inner experience and consciousness.

THE MIRROR...What do you see? Hope it is all good.

I remember when I was young I was obsessed with looking in the mirror. There was a running discussion at Spelman College, my alma mater, about how much time I stood looking in the mirror.

At the time if they could have heard the dialogue in my head it would have been this:

"I need to make sure that I am perfect. I must stare into this mirror to make sure that I look perfect. I am searching everything about me to make sure that I am perfectly beautiful. I can't leave though I have been standing here for at least 15 minutes. If I stare long enough, maybe I will really believe that I am perfect."

I had a middle school friend call me vanity because I was so consumed by my looks...dag! Me and that darn mirror!

Once I began to study the Ancient Spiritual system called Ifa I learned of the goddess Oshun. She exemplifies BEAUTY! She is beautiful and needs all around her to be beautiful, too.

"Oh yes! That is me! I am so Oshun!" I told myself. What I learned is that a physical object that helps one to connect with the energy of Oshun is the mirror...

Instead of trying to love them more, love you more!

Sometimes the person we love doesn't need us to love them more. Sometimes that person is calling us to be more of who we are.

There are so many of us who stoop low but love big. We love so much that we put our own spiritual growth and development on hold. All we can see, all that we pay attention to is getting love from another.

But what happens when the other says through word or deed, "I really don't want this kind of love from you." Then what do we do?

I have always enjoyed watching the last part of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's historic last speech. Today as I listened to it I heard:

"He was a true martyr." Then I heard, "True martyrs don't grieve dying for their cause. They have no attachments. This is different from people who live as martyrs for love. Dr. King clearly shows that he knows that he came here to do a specific thing and that his work was done. He was not attached to him ACTUALLY SEEING the end result because he saw it spiritually first."

I will never grieve for true martyrs again. Sometimes we have to die to this physical world for the greater good. I give thanks for the true martyrs of this world.

To all of those who are martyrs with the expectation of sacrificing your dreams, your happiness and peace to get love from others, STOP! You are not doing the world any favors.

Once you see the big picture then you will stand and live. You will give of yourself freely knowing that the ultimate is your fulfilling your destiny within the Greater Divine Plan of Oneness.

Martyrs...yes..I do better understand them today.

Self-Love: The most important relationship is with your HEAD!

One of the most profound rituals that I learned from my studies of ancient African Traditional Spirituality is the Head Blessing.

First, what is the Head? In Ifa, a spiritual system born out of the Yoruba in Nigeria, the spiritual head of a person is called the Ori. It is the part of us that stays in constant communication with the Higher Universal Divine Wisdom.

Our Ori is considered our own personal deity. It is the part of ourselves that sees the biggest picture of us and of reality.

Ori is that voice inside of us that so many of us say this about, "Something told me to not go down that street. I am glad that I listened because there was bad
news down that street."

As time has passed I have come to understand how other spiritual systems describe Ori. The Christians call it the Holy Spirit. It is Ganesha in the Vedic tradition and Ausar in the spiritual system out of Egypt Kemet. When all else fails just call this part of our selves the Higher Self.

Ifa teaches that it is important to keep our awareness of and line of communication open with our Ori, which has a vested interest in us succeeding.

A way to keep the connection strong between the more limited physical level of our selves and the Ori is to bless it.

Life Review and Gratitude

It is so amazing to me how much synchronicity abounds when I walk aware.

A few days ago I heard the recounting of a story of a man who had a near death experience. During a life review he was shown all of his life.

The story teller said that what disturbed this man most was not what he saw but what he realized he missed out on by not appreciating and walking in gratitude for his life.

He missed out on more when he was caught up in self-pity and missed the bigger picture.

So I decided to post what the ArchAngel Jeremi-EL has to say about Life Review:

"Take inventory of your life and resolve to change or heal anything that's unbalanced."

It takes courage to look at your life. Yet, if done with compassion and a sense of humor, you'll grow and learn from a life review.

I'll help you take stock of where you've been. We'll look at what you've learned, and how these lessons are a valuable asset for today and tomorrow.

We'll also notice life patterns that aren't serving your highest good, and we'll take steps to release those patterns."

Maat is the Goddess whose wisdom is speaking to the Goddess-Body-Mind-Spirit.com community this year. She says to look at the big picture to see how all of the pieces
fit together to make the whole.

As I see it self-life review is a way for us to put all of our individual experiences into perspective to see how they lead us to remember our wholeness.

It is really neat that I attended Bible study tonight and this is the very topic that we discussed: the importance of self-examination.

As I listened I realized how this life-review is important to experiencing more gratitude. I see it as I do the process of unraveling a mystery.

Each experience, each belief, each attitude, emotion and vibration is a clue that leads to another clue that leads to another clue.

After connecting the clues the mystery is no longer and is now self-realization.

Life review can be used to experience more gratitude for after a while one can't help but be happy and grateful for their life.

May you realize the beauty of your life and the giftedness that is you as a result of your own life review.

And so it is.

Gratitude as a Spiritual Path

I am in a mode of expanding my experience with gratitude. I have heard that gratitude is a powerful spiritual tool that can land a person in a sweet, sweet spot. That is what I need right now...a sweet spot.

I know what it means to be grateful. I have experienced gratitude and it is pretty darn delicious.

However recently I began to ponder it as a spiritual path. I was in a small group discussion with a wise woman and she began to talk about bows of gratitude.

Now let me set this up. Before I began to hear her speak I was in the process of doing bows of gratitude. This is when you literally do one bow after the other offering gratitude with each bow.

I knew full well that I needed to take this process deeper and right at that moment the wise woman began to speak:

"Slow down your bows. FEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL the gratitude with each movement in the bow....Can you do 100 bows of gratitude? What about 1000 bows of gratitude? Are you willing to be grateful until your knees bleed? Can you imagine being so grateful that you do 10,000 bows of gratitude?"

Sheesh! She then went on to tell a story that there are some people in the world who actually commit their life to doing bows of gratitude on behalf of all humanity.

All I could think was that I am so grateful for those souls because I know that I have been ungrateful a time or two.

But this got me to thinking about my gratitude level. Is gratitude a part of my lifestyle? How grateful am I really?

I have taken the last few days to go out of my way to be thankful for all that I can think of in that moment. It is amazing how much I take for granted.

Just writing this I am overcome with a deeply warm fuzzy feeling of gratitude for all of life, my life.

You know...This wise woman asked the following questions: "Can you be grateful for the things in your life that maybe didn't feel so good such as parents who didn't love you but still brought you into the world?

"Can you be grateful for that mate who walked out on you leaving you with a broken heart?

"Can you be grateful all the messes you created in your life that caused you to spiral down into situations that were just plain old bad?

"Can you be grateful for it all? How deep is your gratitude?"

I nearly passed out as I listened to her. When we CHOOSE to be grateful, then it is so. This year the primary energy speaking to the Goddess-Body-Mind-Spirit.com community is Maat.

Maat asks that we SEE THE BIG PICTURE. Gratitude is a way to help us step outward and see more of the big picture.

Ultimately ALL IS ONE. There is only the One Divine Source, The Great Mother/God which is Universal Consciousness. I am suspecting that gratitude is a way to arrive at seeing this Ultimate Truth, this Divine Oneness inherent in all things.

And if nothing else, gratitude is the fuel that keeps us living and allows us to seek more even if we are still figuring out most of reality.

I invite you all to journey with me down this gratitude path to see what we find.

Spiritual Immunity: Everyone needs it

I was talking to a friend tonight about the importance of building one's spiritual immunity.

It has taken me a while to come into a limited understanding of evil and dark forces. I have often been described as idealistic, a polly anna sort. So my view primarily focuses on the light and love that is God/The Great Mother.

Dark and evil forces: WHAT?! I have simply had a problem believing that they could exist in the midst of all of the good and the light of the Divine.

BUT my new understanding is that The Divine is Omnipresent. That is truth. HOWEVER, our perception of God often times is no where near as expansive as its ominpresence.

As a matter of fact we can get so limited in our perception of God/The Great Mother that we don't even believe the Divine exists. A dark or evil spirit is one that has such a limited sight of the Divine Being that it seems as if there is no light of God at all in them.

It is these dark forces that can attach to us in an unhealthy symbiotic relationship. Their attachment usually occurs when our spiritual immunity is low.

I wrote about the importance of spiritual exercise a few days ago. It is our spiritual practices and disciplines that keep our spiritual immunity high.

In the public health field we would call it prevention using vaccinations. The use of the MMR vaccination may be a little questionable to me but studying spiritual works and praying and journaling and giving thanks and LIVING TRUTH is a sure fire way to confer immunity to these evil and dark forces.

The Beginning of the End: When Your Inner Dialogue is Taking You SOUTH!

The beginning of the end starts with this type of self-dialogue:

"This morning I am too busy to pray so I will skip doing so and get busy doing all that I need to get done on my full plate today."

"I will skip going to church/mosque/temple/egbe this time. I go every week so one week of not going won't hurt. I am too tired from all of the other stuff that I have been doing."

"Shoots, I know it has been two weeks since I last read my spiritual book. I just feel so down that I can't do anything but sleep right now."

"I need to relax. I will go watch TV/surf the net/talk on the phone/play video games."

I am one who believes that one's spiritual practices are where our peace is recognized, love expands and our spiritual power unfolds.

For my entire life I have been one who is inclined to do spiritual things. But oh my, this physical realm of consciousness has been so enticing and fun and engaging that I have had my times when I thought, "Spiritual what?"

In the earlier part of this phase of my spiritual journey, I would be hot and cold with respect to having daily spiritual practices. There were times when I was so on doing my spiritual work that I would be soaring.

Then I would begin to feel "okay" and would think, "I am fine now." Slowly but surely my daily spiritual work would fall by the way side and I would be steeped in watching America's Next Top Model Marathons ALLLLLLLL day long. WHAT!?

Finally, I would DRRRRAAAAAGGGG myself back to my sacred space, blow the dust off all of my spiritual books and start my spiritual exercises from scratch always landing back in a place of spiritual fitness.

I repeated this cycle for years. Then one day I decided that I would not make any more come backs. I decided that I was committed to doing my spiritual work DAILY. Come hell or high water this sister would not compromise on getting my spirituality on.

Here lately I have found myself in a busy and active state. I feel like I am constantly working on this project, writing that piece or divining for a truth seeker. Not to mention I homeschool my children, teach fitness classes and have responsibilities around my home.

One night on my way to Bible study, I thought, "I am so tired. I really don't want to go. I just want to go home and rest."

Immediately I thought, "Uh-Oh! That is the beginning of the end. Skipping out on regular spiritual practices is the first step into a descent of living hell."

I put my car on the straight and narrow to that church and had some of the most poignant revelations while there.

Just yesterday I awoke needing to complete writing a spiritual reading for a client. Now this weekend I was engaged in very sacred and spiritual work helping four awesome women complete their initiation into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries.

If that ain't spiritual work I don't know what is. I am a little depleted in some way so doing my own personal work is important. I felt so pressed to get that reading done because I had to teach a fitness class that I almost skipped reading and journaling as I do every morning.

Again I said, "The beginning of the end is not nurturing self with your spiritual exercise."

As much as it pained me I sat and did what I was supposed to do. I felt refreshed, revived and was able to hear even the more what I was to write in that reading.

As busy as I am I am not crumbling. I feel good in general and all that I need to get done is getting done in a way at which I am amazed.

I encourage all who need this message to just go ahead and take the plunge into your spiritual practices. Stop making come backs. Ease your way by just doing it. Turn off the TV, the radio, the news, the internet and any other distracting activities. Step away from distracting relationships.

Set up a spiritual space and do SOMETHING to exercise your spiritual muscles. Say a prayer of thanks. Write in your journal daily. Meditate. Sing. Dance. Give praises.

It is not my job to tell you what to do but I do encourage you to make it do what it do! Your spiritual practice is your spiritual power!!!!

A Solution to Your Problems: Clear the Chatter and the Static

For many of us there is so much chatter and static that we can not hear the divine wisdom of the Universe speaking to us. The Divine Energy governing this physical reality is wise and rich with solutions to all of our issues and seeming problems.

All we need to do is to attune ourselves to the correct frequency which is that of our divinity.

It is important to clear the static called runaway thoughts, judgment and living in the past or future.

When we are attuned to the frequency of the Divine Presence, we live in the moment, we feel good and what we see with our eyes is not the ultimate truth.

It is essential to implement daily spiritual practices that help keep our minds clear and our beingness steeped in truth. For when we are clear magic abounds, our trust in the Divine increases and we live fully supported by the God/The Great Mother who most certainly can do a better job than any other being including our limited ego self.

Attune your inner radio to the station called the Divine.

Humility: A Spiritual Superpower

When I was a girl I watched superheros on television. It was neat seeing all of them do superhuman feats.

Being the typical child in my mind I had superpowers, too. They were only played out in my mind, though. I never quite figured out how to make them manifest in my life.

As I journey deeper down my spiritual path, I am realizing that I truly have superpowers one of which is humility.

Humility is lowering the ego constructs. Humility is realizing that the personality is but a small part of self, the least of one's identity.

Humility allows me to align myself with the greater power, the greater force, the Divine. I am able to understand my expanded self rather than limiting my consciousness to that of the physical plane.

It is through lowering my ego self that God/The Great Mother can do mighty works. There is very little the Divine can do through me when my ego is what is most important.

There is much good that shall flow through me when my ego is low. Humility is how the force is with me. It is truly one of my superpowers.

Go To The Woods

This quote stood out for me today because it reflects a theme for my life.

For so long I have played it safe. I have set goals that were definitely achievable and fail safe.

For so long failure has not been an option because it seems that when we fail we are judged, given an "F" and possibly even disliked.

At least this is a belief that my inner girl adopted a long time ago.

Here lately I have decided to stretch myself beyond my previously believed limits.

I have decided that to play it safe means to miss out on life in some way.

I have decided that life happens in the mystery, the magic, the unknown and that though stability is nice, it can lead to stagnation if I am not careful.

What I have done is gone to the woods. Life is beginning again for me and it is scary, nice and exhilarating all at the same time.

In a way coming into the physical plane of existence is being in the woods. We are here so we may as well maximize our living it while we are here.

Take a chance! You just may succeed after all!

Mundane vs. Magic: Which one are you choosing?

How is it that we miss out on the fact that there is a world that is alive, vibrant, magical and overflowing with good stuff?

It seems that so many of us are numb to the greatness of The Divine.

We get lost in our mundane world of work, raising family, social networking sites, relationships, neighbors, political causes...and forget that there is a magical and mysterious world that is going on all the time for our own pleasure.

Take some to time today to see that there is so much more going on than we realize.

Open your senses to take in more of the breeze, the trees, the flowers, the air, the buses. Isn't it wonderful to see children playing with smiles on their faces?

How neat is it to see people living their passion.

Get excited about life by taking time to stop and take in the wonder and glory of ALL of Creation.

Fasting Journal: I give up.

Well, this fasting season, this season of release has left me in Oya's sweet space of surrender. I am so over all of the voices in my head that tell me how badly things are going to turn out. I am over trying to MAKE anything happen.

I have no judgment of my life as good or bad. I have released myself from the need to make others happy.

I have fallen in this place: I am who I am. Like me or not because the only opinion of me that matters is my own. Period.

I am here also: So what? I give up. If Divine law is truth then let it be so. All I can do is go with that and do my part which is follow the freakin' yellow brick road called my Ori, Higher Self, Ganesha, Ausar, Holy Spirit.

I don't feel numb; I feel present. I just feel. When negative thoughts and emotions arise I shrug my shoulders and say, "So what." and I go back to the task at hand.

Surrender. Truly I give up. I look for the miracles but if they don't come, so what. It is all good either way.

I stand at the door called spiritual death. Take me or leave me. YOu know when you are there it really doesn't matter. At death what can you do but relax into it?

Can't even begin to say what all of this means. Just writing as a spiritual aspirant on my way to a more enlightened me.

Fasting Journal: Don't Fight the Emotions....Get to the Now-Moment

I hope that during this fast when you feel the emotions rise that you let them come and then release them. I have been more cry-y lately and am a bit shocked. When I allow myself to be aware, I think, "Oh, something is needing to come out of me." So I get relaxed about the emotions, stop thinking that something is wrong and I release them.

No matter what you feel don't stuff it. Find a way to release it. Do you need to address something awful that your mother said to you? Are you angry because you think your daddy was no good. Are you mad because your child died to soon? Do you have unforgiveness in you because of your spouse?

What in the world are you so mad about? Why are you in despair? Sometimes if we don't ask the question then we just stay where we are. You have to ask the question in order to even get things moving.

But in a fast situation it is not all the time bliss. Sometimes it is a big detox. YOur body hurts. Your mind becomes foggy. Your emotions become amplified.

WHY? Because we decided to step up our game to do the work in order to get to our enlightenment, our buddhahood, our christ consciousness, our nirvana, our hetep.

So be present with it all. It is the now-moment experience that allows us to choose moment by moment how we feel, think and live.

Let the emotions come. It is all good!

Fasting Journal: I am lazy and a whiner. Is this REALLY the legacy I want to leave?

I awoke this morning and prepared to teach my water aerobics class. I was just a huffing and a puffing thinking about having to go and teach class and thinking about all that I have to do. I was getting lost in my thoughts about having to clean the house when I heard: "What is the legacy of your Ancestors?"

I thought about it. Well, many of them had no nicely air conditioned home with running water. They had to walk to where they wanted to go and did so joyfully... unlike me who was getting ready to get in my car and drive to my job.

And the women...housework...what? There is no question. You do it and because that what you do. No need to whine and complain.

DAG! OUCH! OW WOW WOW!

So I realized something about myself that I have known for a while: I am LAZY! I am a WHINER! I miss how blessed I am because this lifestyle is the only reality that I have known.

YIKES! I then shifted my energy, gave thanks for this fast and joyfully went and taught my class.

I have missed the legacy of my Ancestors to a certain extent because of the luxury of modern day conveniences. It is my work ethic that needs addressing in my life.

Can I and do I work hard? Sure. However, I know that I take for granted this easy life that I live. I take for granted that so many of my Ancestors and people around the world have NOTHING compared to my material acquisitions.

I am in a place where I am raising myself out of my numbness to a place where I see the vibrancy of the world and realize that I am called to make a difference in my own way.

I am feeling that there is no way in the world I can allow Those souls who incarnated before me to have done all that they did, whether they did a good job or not, and me not pick up their legacy and run with it.

There is a shift taking place in my consciousness. I feel the energy of the Enlightened Ancestors flowing through my consciousness. It makes me stand taller and feel that much more enlightened.

If it be that we need to transform a legacy of pain. Then let it be so. If it be that we come to pick up the legacy of greatness, then let it be so.

The bottom line is that we need to make a choice. There is a legacy. What are you going to do with it? Those who are down the line from you are looking to you to ease the way for them. They say, "help us to see the legacy more easily. please do what you need to do. That way we live our purpose without getting lost in the lie of the physical world first."

Fasting Journal: Let's Go Ahead and Deliver this Baby!

I don't know why I do these fasts anymore. It is just like with pregnancy for so many women. We get pregnant with all that goes with that, have the baby... the labor pains are kickass, the late nights are exhausting and the come back from a pregnant body is no joke.

Then the baby gets bigger and what? We start to forget pregnancy and the early days. As the baby gets older we start feeling the urge to have another baby.

So many of us will get pregnant again, we will even be excited, until we start feeling morning sickness and feel those labor pains and go back to the early days of caring for a little baby.

I have heard women say time and time again: "What in the heck was I thinking? I totally forgot about all of this. All I could think about was getting a new little baby and forgot about how hard it is to start all over."

That is me and fasting. I fast four times a year and at each interval, I am excited about fasting. But then the detox starts. And I say, "Why in the world am I doing this? This is hard!"

That is where I stand this morning. These fasts are where I take away my quarterly crutches so that I can keep my relationship with my Self and Divine balanced, clear and first and foremost in my life.

Soooooo...the tears flow, the emotions rise, the wrong thinking and mindset become very evident to me.

BUT...I am knowing, like every mother knows, that it is all worth it in the end. My baby at the end of the fast is that I am just that much more open spiritually and more on point.

I am becoming more and more clear that the more I keep my consciousness set on things above and not things below, the more that I seek enlightenment, spiritual liberation and self-realization, the happier I am, the less I am moved by the world and I am able to truly maximize my gift called life in the physical plane.

So fasting is worth it. Detoxing is worth it. All of the removal of the crap that keeps me weighted down in the lie that I have told myself for so long...it is so freakin' worth it.

I wish you a great fast. May you see the prize that awaits you in the end in order to stay in this fasting game.

Week of August 30-Sept 5, 2009Ausar HetepKEYNOTES: "I AM"; Just *BE*; Who are You Really; FORGET THE SUPERSTAR, JUST BE WHO YOU ARE"I Am Ausar."

I have learned that this is what the ancient people of Egypt/Kemet said. What this means is that they understood that they were not their personality, they were not a role, they were not even a culture.

This meant that they understood that they were divinity, pure potentiality, consciousness.

Ausar is the part of ourselves that is not conditioned by the physical level of consciousness. It is the most expanded part of our differentiated self. One step beyond Ausar is the Divine Oneness.

A way to think of this is consider the Ocean. If we take a glass and scoop some of the water out of the ocean, it is is now ocean water in a glass.

This is The Divine and Us. We are parts of the Universal Consciousness individuated into seemingly separate beings.

Ausar is the first level of individuation. Ausar has no conditionings, no labels, no roles. Ausar just is. This is the place that we all strive to achieve.

One of my favorite scriptures from the Bible is,

"Let this mind be in (me) which was also in Christ Jesus."

I use this scripture to invoke remembrance that I have the same mind of God/The Great Mother within me. It is this Mind and only this Mind that I seek to connect with.

When I do so I begin to lose track of time and space. I am not limited by this physical level of consciousness.

I feel complete and utter peace at all times. The Divine is my source and my supply.

It is the Avatars and the Yogis who have achieved this level of beingness. The good news is that awareness of this state of consciousness is all of our destinies.

It is our birthright to walk fully enlightened in a body.

What happens for most of us is that our body distracts us, our environment does not support healthy ego development steeped in the truth of our identity.

For most of us "I AM..." is followed by a role, a condition, a wound or some dogma.

Can we just say, "I AM"? Period. That is what we are being called to do this week. Walk as I AM. We are being called to transcend our conditionings, labels and titles.

This is how I have heard it to say to us: Who are you beyond your Super-Star-Made-Up-Self? Who are you beyond the facade that you put up day in and day out to save face? When you take away all of the make up, the nice clothes and stand naked before the mirror, who are you really?

A wise traditional African priest once said to me:

The least of your real self is greater than 100% of your super star made up self.

I remember feeling like he knocked me out when he said it. But it is true. If you seek to only be who you are, therein lies the power that you have been searching for for years now.

May our children never forget who they are so they don't have to make the long trek back home. May all of us who have forgotten come back home to Self, I AM.

August 20, 2009

This week has been very challenging for me. Amen says get sleep. But what have I done? Gone to bed late and gotten up early everyday. So I have not been optimal in my body and my mind.

I have also been experiencing mood swings that are crazy. One moment I am high and the next I am searching for a ray of light in all of my darkness.

I have been taken back to negative emotions that used to be my normal way but have been dissolved as I have grown in my spiritual awareness and consciousness.

I have felt fear, jealously, lack, anger.

Last night I was lying down seeking to give myself a break. I tuned into my body and mind to see what was really going on with all of my emotion and negative feelings.

I realized that I was in a place that I have been before. It is called release and transformation.

Each time I get ready to step into a new phase of enlightenment and self-realization, I go through a period of feeling like I am having a nervous breakdown. I feel like crap. All of my insecurities resurface.

I have learned to surrender in those moments. The way I like to describe it is through the transition phase when a woman gives birth to her baby.

The first part of labor is all about getting the door open to get the baby out. These contractions are specific to this first stage of labor.

The second stage of labor is all about the baby coming through the door. These contractions are totally different from the first stage contractions.

In order for the woman's body to move from first stage labor to second stage, a major energetic push occurs. It is called transition. For most it is the craziest part of labor.

This is a time when the mother feels most out of sorts. It is like nothing that I have ever experienced but let's just say it feels like a roller coaster ride. One second she is hot, the next cold. She may vomit. Literally it feels like chaos on the inside of you.

The good news is that this is the shortest part of labor and it gets us to the prize: THE BABY COMES OUT!

This is what occurs in our spiritual journey called life. We transition from one way of knowing ourselves to a more expanded view.

In order to grow bigger in our awareness of ourselves, we must go through transition. We must go through a time of feeling like we are losing everything. The spiritual quality that is key here is SURRENDER.

If we surrender to the process, if we release the old in order to step into the new, then we are able to do so more easily and with grace and ease.

It is when we hold onto the old while at the same time our soul is seeking to release it that we have a harder time.

My point to all of you is that we are in the phase of the moon where we are moving from the old to the new.

We just ended the waning moon phase, the time when we do releasing work, and are now at the new moon today where we set intentions to make manifest our dreams and desires.

I encourage us all to allow the release of the old in order to create more good in the new.

I encourage us all to not judge our process as bad or good. Just be with it and stay aware. Seek peace in all things and be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

I am now realizing that in order to maintain debt and/or poverty, we must have a relationship with it. I do not apply this to children but for adults, in a way debt/poverty becomes part of our identity. We also get to a place where we have a form of addiction to it...both probably help us to get a fear fix.

The way to transcend it is to shift the focus from what we lack to what we do have and to establish proper relationship with the True Source of Abundance. We do this through transforming our mind and infusing it with abundance wisdom throughout everyday. We do this through releasing wrong thinking and any attachments we have to errors in thinking.

I now know that abundance is our true nature and anything else is an abnormality.

I give thanks to the ancestors who gave this wisdom to me this evening. ASHE-O!

Do you know who you really are? Are you willing to release who
you have previously believed yourself to be in order to receive
full enlightenment, self-realization, to walk as the Avatar you
were born to be?

That is what we are called to ponder this week. There is power
in the thought because your thoughts stem from who you believe
you are.

If your understanding of yourself is limited, your thoughts
will be limited.

If your understanding of yourself is expanded, then your thoughts
will allow more possibilities into your consciousness.

What is important to understand is the quality of BEING creates
the most powerful thoughts. BEING is the "I AM" aspect of
consciousness.

Many of us define ourselves by our roles or by what we do. So
if we are asked, "Who are you?" then we begin to list our family
status, the work we do, the extracurricular activities in which
we participate.

How many of us would answer: DIVINITY INCARNATE? How many of
us have a goal in life to BE? This is what God/The Great Mother
is...Beingness, Presence, energy without form, the I AM in all.

So when our identity is steeped in our knowingness of ourselves
as divine, then life becomes an expression of divinity and its
qualities such as peace, love, harmony, joy, etc.

Sebek speaks to us again. This is often looked at as light
weight energy but in fact this is power house energy when
transforming our lives.

Who do you think you are? Now drop that and KNOW who you are.
It is so important to release conditionings. It is important to not
define your life by your conditions. Stop defining yourself according
to your family history, past experiences and especially according to
who the world says that you are.

Sebek yet again is calling us to question everything that we believe.

Why DO you believe what you believe?

Are you evolving because of your beliefs?

Are your beliefs leading you to a greater experience of love?

Are your beliefs causing you to walk in your life's purpose or to run from it?

The Ultimate of life is to KNOW who you. That is what Amen says. Amen
represents the Supreme Deity: God, The Goddess, The One, Source
Energy. Amen is The Oneness, the Unifying Principle inherent in all.

To know who you are is to understand your connection to the
Oneness. ALL IS ONE.

We are called to be the physical embodiment of this truth.
Amen says that your essential, your TRUE nature is PEACE. When
we are anything but peace then we are off our center.

This week be committed to peace. In the past when I
would get Amen readings for myself I would think..."Oh no!
It is going to be a rough week. I will find myself in chaotic
situations that require me to be peaceful."

But what this now means to me is to be so connected to the One,
to be so in the knowing of the Oneness in all things that I choose
peace because my only reality is that of the God/The Great Mother.

I see the Divine in ALL THINGS, PEOPLE, and SITUATIONS. So no
matter what I see with my physical eyes, I maintain my peace
because I KNOW that all is ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Consequently walking in the truth of who you are is consciously
knowing and living within the Greater Universal Pattern of Source
Energy.

And when we do this then the affirmation "I live in a Beneficent
and Benevolent Universe always conspiring in my favor,"
becomes our reality.

We literally will have a consciousness shift that will no longer
allow us to live in lack and limitation.

We can use the laser beam focus, the detail oriented gifts of
Sebek within to add the final touches on master creations called our lives..

Here are suggestions for assisting you with maximizing the power

Work with the energy of Mercury, Sebek, Eshu/Elegba, Rapha-El. If all you do is learn more about this energy then that will assist you with better understanding how to apply it within you.

Thoughts will rise and fall like the ocean. Don't entertain thoughts that limit you. Simply allow them to fall back down into the ocean of your mind. Grab thoughts that lead you to an expanded and greater version of yourself.

If you don't do anything else this week do this: BE QUIET! Most of us engage in TMI: too much information. Too much information from the internet, e-mail, cell-phones, text messages, tv, radio, friends, family, etc....

Amen says BE QUIET!!!! spend time in quiet so that you can hear
the voice of God/The Great Mother within you.

Divination: A Roadmap to Enlightenment

Many of us have heard of spiritual and psychic readings. But have any of us stopped to ask the question: Why get a reading? Why go to someone who claims the ability to see into the future or help us find love or solve our money problems? What is the spiritual and psychic reading business all about?

Divination is an ancient art of accessing guidance from our higher wisdom faculty in order to navigate through life with grace and ease and on purpose.

Truth be told we all have access to the highest wisdom. The issue for many of us is that we are blocked by our conditionings and self-imposed limitations and so we are not able to hear the wisdom from within.

This is where divination comes into play. We go to the oracle not just in a state of emergency or crisis or to figure out how to conjure up something. These are all valid reasons to go but they are not the ONLY reason we go to the oracle.

We also go to the oracle in order to assist us with attaining the highest level of living whilein the physical body: ENLIGHTENMENT.

It is when we reach enlightenment that life flows easily, we feel loved and live our lives on purpose and we are able to fully appreciate this limited time that we are in a physical body.

So while there are times when we need to see into the future or we need a quick answer to a life problem, a different and more comprehensive way of approaching divination is as a road map.

When we have a roadmap, we are able to more easily navigate life from a place of EMPOWERMENT.

We no longer operate in the dark but instead we use the wisdom in the spiritual reading as a light, a lamp unto our feet.

I encourage us all to seek out the wisdom of the oracles. Personally, I have avoided much heartache as a result of consulting the oracle.

This Universe is Beneficent and Benevolent always conspiring in our favor. Hence, we have the Wisdom of the Oracle to help assist us.

I have a few questions for you.....

These questions are related to the 2009 Summer Solstice Fast:

Questions of the day:

What is your attachment to that emotion?

Why do you cling to it so tightly?

What do you stand to lose if you give up that emotion?

What do you stand to gain by choosing a different way of feeling in place of the problematic emotion?

Sometimes the ability ignore a thing is to figure out how it got there in the first place. These emotions only have the power that we give to them.

Stay tuned. I will address different methods and techniques that work for me when I am seeking to move from limiting beliefs and emotions.
